Two Peas in a Pod

We finally were able to make the journey down to visit cousin Mayson.  Even though Rob is a week older, she has a full pound on him!  They were a little unsure of each other at first, but it did not take long for them to become fast friends.

 

 

 

 

We can’t wait to get them together again really soon!

We’re Back!! (finally)

Sorry for the long, long absence.  We have been busy and getting bigger.  Since it has been SO long, I will update what we have been doing since the last post in August.  

Finley Jane learned to surf…

 

We had record number of trick-or-treaters, including this cute Cowgirl!

 

Celebrated Chirstmas…

 

Had our first ballet performance…(click to watch it-too cute!)

 

We got almost 9 inches of snow and they cancelled school for the entire week!!!

 

And we managed to add a new member to the family…

We brought him home Christmas Day…

Just one day old.

One week.

Two weeks.

 

And we think he is fitting in just perfectly…

Too Funny

Finley decided she was going to write a book the other day. So she went to work and got all her pictures done and she tells a pretty funny store with it, but this is by far my favorite page...

She said she was using it for inspiration. Matt's tie is the best part. I knew something was up when the story went from necklaces to a wedding, as this photo was taken at Cameron and Andy's wedding. Robby and I actually think she is getting ready for Halloween, since we all look kind of skeletal.

Yeah for Ballet!!

Finley started ballet/tap last week and LOVED it!

Although moms aren't allowed in the room, I was able to sneak a few pictures...

They switch to tap halfway through...

And did I mention they dance to Dinsey Princess music? What could be better for a bunch of four year old girls?

Sixty Bucks

If you are Finley Jane's little brother you can get this...

Finley came up with an idea today that went a little like this:

FJ: Mom, I am going to separate all these animals into boy animals and girl animals.

Mom: OK

FJ: I think my little brother will like the boy animals.

Mom: I bet he would love them. Are you going to let him have the boy ones?

FJ: I am going to sell them to him.

Mom: You are? How much?

-

FJ: Sixty Bucks!

A Place to Sleep

All babies need a place that is theirs...

A place they know is safe to close their eyes and sleep.

I am so thankful I was able to help Matt and Mandi create this space for their little girl on the way.

-

Mandi picked out the fabric, Matt gave his nod of approval and I put it all together. Mandi let me have free range. All I had to do was use the blue paisley on the outside of the bumper and use the brown for the bed skirt. While the crib pictured is ours and the sheets were Finley's you can get an idea of where their little one will be resting her head...hopefully!

First Day of School

Can you believe she has gone from this...

to this?

I can't!

It seems like yesterday I called Robby and told him to meet me at the hospital because Finley Jane was on her way. Now she is starting real school! She is so ready. Although she did not cry when we dropped her off, not the same can be said for mom. What a trooper that little girl is! She loved her new school and teacher. Her teacher even said she was a model student. She might tell that to all her new moms, but we can hope!

She wanted to run to school, but after the first fall, we had to slow it down a bit. And after the second fall on the short walk to school, Daddy went back to the house to get her different shoes. What a great Daddy he is.

All in all it was a pretty long day for mom and dad, but she made it with flying colors!

She is going to make a great big sister to her little brother.
