Snack time!

New Year's Resolution

Can you tell my resolution was to blog more often? Well, guess what? It is not working. What gave it away? Was it the mere four post in three months? Or was it the fact that I have not posted in over a month? Either way, I will hopefully be able to make a rebound and get the posts going again.

I do have an excuse though, we have been very busy...

We have already been to an Easter Egg hunt.

We have gotten our first jean jacket.

We have gotten our first walkman? (Is that what they are still called?)

And, oh yeah, turned FOUR!! Can you believe it?

If anyone every ask you to host a "Make Your Own Pizza Party" for a bunch of four year olds, quickly tell them NO!

Snow Day

The alarm went off this morning at 6:04 and we were all hoping for a snow day. When the radio won't list the school closings, Robby will check the neighbor's lights and if they are on, school is on. If they are off, no school. Lights On! Rats, we were hoping to sleep in a little longer. Schools did close two hours early. Although Finley's Valentine's Party at school was cancelled, she did get out today at 12:30! But, still no snow. We even got a text from Aunt Mandi showing all their snow, but no snow for us. Then while Finley was napping (rare event), it started to snow. And then more and more and more. By the time she woke up, everything was white. She was so excited! We bundled up and headed outside.

Finley made a snowball and just had to take a picture of it, by herself.

And here I am with the snowball...

After an afternoon in the snow, we headed in for some Hot Chocolate!!

What a day!

Sweets & Treats

It is well known that Finley loves a party. Be it a birthday party or a classroom party. The only problems is she never gets to have a "Girls Only" party. So, we decided she could host her very own Valentine's Party and invite a few of her closest girlfriends and boy did they have fun. It was a great time for all. Moms had a chance to catch up and the girls were able to just play and enjoy some normally off-limits treats.

A Special Treat

Just about every night Finley asks...
"Mommy, can I make my own decision about what to wear to dinner tonight?" Most nights I have to say no, only because she creates enough laundry as it is, but there are some nights I just have to give in to her because she is so darn cute.

Well, the other day was a special day and I decided she could pick out her own clothes, from head to toe for school. First we had a quick little chit-chat about matching and off she went. There were just two rules:
1. NO tank tops
2. She had to have something on her legs, be it tights, leggings or pants

She was SO excited! You would have thought I told her we could get a puppy (which, by the way, will never happen).

I think she did pretty good. This skirt is her absolute favorite piece of clothing; she would wear it every day, if we let her. I knew she would pick it. She was very particular about the buttoning of her sweater and only wanted the 2nd button from the top done. And of course she had to have on her sparkle shoes and her umbrella in case it rains.

So, I think this getting dressed thing must be getting to her head because after she "cleaned" her bathroom Saturday night (which consist of her spraying everything with a water bottle and Robby coming behind her with a towel to dry it all), we decided to take her for a treat at Dairy Queen. Because of the hard core cleaning she had done, she was wet from top to bottom and "had" to change her clothes. She wanted to pick her outfit again. She did so good the first time, why not?

Yep, that is a purple shirt with a pink and yellow skirt, with brown and white polka dot leggings. At least the brown vest kind of matches the leggings! And of course the sparkle shoes again!

I think we need to review matching 101.

OCD?

What does it really mean to be OCD? I mean is it something you really don't want for your child? She likes to do things right and in her way. I shouldn't be worried, should I? What other three year old can fold washcloths like this?

It could be a good thing, right?

Merry Christmas!

Wow! How did Christmas come and go so fast! It seems like the same thing happens every year. Christmas is months away and you have time to get it all done and then all of a sudden it is over!

It all started with asking Santa for only a pizza and a Hello Kitty scarf. How innocent, if only she knew what was to come!

First we had Christmas with Papa and Mimi where Finley racked up on all kinds of games, a new wardrobe and her very own silver necklace! Not to mention her very first video game!

On Christmas Eve the Shelf Elf left her some princess dresses since it was his last day here. Her favorite was the snow princess one. As you can see she is putting out reindeer food and her daddy is following close behind to make sure the princess does not get wet from the rain. Yes that is Robby with a mini Dora umbrella in the front yard for all to see. Now that is a Father's Love!

While Santa had a difficult time hunting down the Hello Kitty scarf the pizza was easy to come by. And what other kid had a piping hot pizza waiting for them under the tree? Christmas morning was magical for her. She was able to spend it with her Daddy, Mommy and her Babe. Not only did Finley get a lot of presents, but Santa even left some for Bitty Baby!

We then headed over to the Freeman's for Brunch. Although the heat went out that morning, the house was warm with love! All the Freemans were there and Mamaw, Larry and Autumn! More presents for Finley Jane and Bitty Baby!

Then today we had out final Christmas at the Ellis household with all the cousins and Uncle Matt and Aunt Mandi! Here Finley got an ironing board. I think we are going to have her trained here pretty soon!

And of course, her best bud Leroi was there!
And Finally for your listening pleasure Finley Jane singing Silent Night, if I can get the video to upload. It is very poor quality, but I will see if I can get her to do it again and sit still while singing. yeah right.
